About Alford & Son’s Landscaping

This is sinkhole country. Rain that falls near Mill Creek slips down through the limestone instead of running off, so Alachua ground drains fast and dries faster, and a lawn here lives or dies by how it is handled through a dry April. Alford & Son's Landscaping reads that ground — mowing high enough to shade the roots, edging clean without scalping the crown, trimming where the mower cannot reach. Beds get mulched and defined, hedges get cut back to a shape, and yard debris goes out with the truck. It is the kind of work handed down one job site at a time, done for the plain satisfaction of a place looking square. The result is a lawn that carries through the hot months instead of surrendering in June.
