About Stewart Bros. Turf, LLC

The open ground at Bellevue north of the city is one long lesson in what grass will do when it's given room, and every lawn in Wilmington is a smaller version of the same argument. Stewart Bros. Turf, LLC works the turf itself — mowing at the height the season calls for, aeration to open compacted soil, overseeding to thicken thin stands, feeding and weed control on a schedule, plus the trimming, edging and cleanups that keep the whole picture tight. The city sits in the transition zone, warm enough to punish cool-season grass in August and cold enough to keep warm-season grass off the table, so the calendar counts for more here than almost anywhere. Autumn is the real growing season for a lawn like this; September seed does what April seed only promises. Get that stretch right and next June mostly takes care of itself.
