About Mike Mitsdarfer's Lawn Services

Saturday morning in Brandywine Hundred has a sound to it, and a good share of that sound is mowers working their way up the streets off Marsh and Shipley Roads. Mike Mitsdarfer's Lawn Services runs that circuit — weekly cutting, trimming around mailboxes and swing sets and the base of every maple, edging the driveway apron, and clearing the clippings off the walks before the truck moves on. These are the deep sloping backyards north of the city, where the ground rolls down toward Shellpot Creek and no two properties drain the same way. Cleanups in spring and again in autumn handle the rest of the calendar, hauling out what the wind and the leaves leave behind. The measure of a route done right is a whole street that looks like one hand touched it.
