Gibbs Tree Service

About Gibbs Tree Service

Spring comes up the Nanticoke early, and Seaford's river maples leaf out before the fields are dry enough to plant. Gibbs Tree Service opens the season with pruning, the cuts that shape a young tree for the summers ahead and take weight off a limb before it finds out how heavy it is. Trimming work runs through town all year: crowns lifted off porch roofs on the old streets, branches pulled back from the alleys and the driveways behind them. Removals wait until a tree has nothing left to offer, and then the trunk comes down under rope rather than under gravity. After a squall line crosses the river, storm damage cleanup becomes the whole day's plan, and the measure of it is simple — by dusk you cannot tell where the mess was.
