Against The Grain Lawn & Landscape Management

About Against The Grain Lawn & Landscape Management

In May, before the summer crowds arrive, Rehoboth Beach belongs to the salt wind and the gulls — the boardwalk nearly empty in the early morning, Silver Lake still and glassy behind the dunes, the cottages on the shady side streets waiting for their season. Against The Grain Lawn & Landscape Management gets yards ready in that hush before the rush. The name nods to an old mower's truth, that grass cut against the grain stands up straighter. Sandy soil and salt air are hard on a lawn, which makes a trim, green yard a block from the ocean all the more of a pleasure to see. When summer finally comes, the grass is mowed, edged and trimmed, ready for porch chairs, outdoor showers and long bright evenings.
