About Scotty's Lawn Care Service LLC

Late in the afternoon the light comes across the soybean fields west of Felton and turns every mown lawn a shade brighter than it was at noon. Scotty's Lawn Care Service LLC spends its days on those back roads toward Viola and Canterbury, cutting grass for houses set down between the farms. The work is simple and it is exact: mow, edge, trim the fence lines, clear the drive, roll on to the next one. Summer means weekly stops and a machine that never really cools; autumn means chasing maple leaves off the same lawns twice a week. What lasts is the look of a yard at day's end — squared up, even, quiet.
