About Michele Green

April arrives in Dover all at once — dogwood and azalea along the older streets, the maples finally leafing out over Loockerman, and grass that seems to have decided overnight to start growing again. Michele Green takes on the lawns of that first real green month and carries them forward: mowing, trimming close around bed edges and mailbox posts, cutting a clear line where lawn meets walk. Downtown Dover is a walking place, its blocks short and its front yards on display to anybody passing, so neatness carries weight here in a way it doesn't everywhere. Each visit is a small restoration — an hour's work that makes a house look like somebody is home and paying attention. That is the whole ambition, repeated weekly, right through the season.
