Muddy Brook winds through West Woodstock under alders, and the yards along it run to slope, shade and soft ground. FGC Services LLC mows them anyway — on schedule, at the right height, with trimming into the corners no machine reaches easily and edges cut clean along walks and drives. The season opens with a spring clearing and closes with leaf removal, the two jobs that decide what the lawn looks like in between. A property that stays even all summer, instead of catching up in bursts, is the aim. Yards across Woodstock and out toward Pomfret and Eastford.
