About Long Meadow Landscaping

Woodbury's floor is river-made — the Nonnewaug and the Weekeepeemee braiding together into the Pomperaug, laying down meadow after meadow of soft ground. Long Meadow Landscaping works that valley the way it asks to be worked: mowing on the flat, edging clean lines where lawn meets old stone wall, hauling off the leaf-fall that comes down all at once off the Orenaug ledges. Then the cold arrives out of the northwest and the work changes shape — plowing the long hill driveways, opening walkways, laying salt on the steep pitches before the first car of the morning tries them. There is a particular satisfaction in a black driveway at six a.m. with white banked on either side of it. Lawn care and snow removal both, for the households of this valley town.
