When a storm tracks up the Route 7 corridor, Wilton usually draws the wet, heavy kind that bends the hemlocks over Cannondale. Glengate plows through it — driveways cleared, walkways opened, salt worked into the shaded stretches the sun never reaches all day. Heavy snow means more passes and earlier starts, because the whole trick is never letting it set up. Seasonal snow arrangements mean nobody has to make a phone call at four in the morning to get a truck moving. There is something satisfying about a clean apron of pavement at first light while it is still coming down.
