Fairfield Snow

About Fairfield Snow

A nor'easter reaching Westport comes off the water first — wet, heavy, salt in it, piling against Compo's seawall and then running inland over every driveway between the beach and the Post Road. Fairfield Snow works those storms: plowing drives and lots, clearing walkways and entries by hand and blower, spreading salt and sand where the melt refreezes overnight. Coastal snow is the difficult kind, dense enough to sit and slick enough to skate, and it wants attention more than once. The trucks stay out until the last pass is done. Morning finds pavement, not a rumor of pavement.
