Weston keeps its meadows. Out by Lachat Town Farm the grass runs open to the treeline, and the rest of town hides its lawns down long, dirt-shouldered drives. Don's T.E.L works both halves of the year here: mowing, trimming and cleanups while the ground is soft, then plowing, shoveling and salting once it isn't. A February storm in this town makes the driveway the whole problem — steep, curved, tucked under hemlocks that drop their load all at once. Getting it open before the first car needs it is the point. So is a lawn in June that looks tended rather than merely cut.
