Out past Westbrook's beaches, the Duck Island breakwater takes the weather first, the summer thunderheads and, in February, the wind that drives snow flat across Water Street. Labriola Landscaping, LLC works both ends of that year. In the warm months it is mowing, edging, trimming, mulch in the beds and the cleanups at spring and fall; in winter it is plowing driveways, clearing walkways and salting ice that forms fast on a shoreline night. This coast holds its heat a little longer in autumn and gives it up hard in January, so the calendar here keeps its own logic. Either season the aim is the same, a property that reads as kept, and a drive you can get out of at six in the morning.
