The Menunketesuck comes down through the salt marsh at Westbrook and the tide moves the whole horizon twice a day. Farrell's Four Seasons works the yards above that line, with weekly mowing, edging along the walks, trimming, mulch into the beds and the cleanups that open and close the calendar. Autumn on this shore runs long and mild, so the grass keeps going after the marsh has gone the color of straw and there is still cutting to do while the leaves come down. September overseeding gives a lawn its head start on the following June. The pleasure of the job is the look of it at the end of a hot afternoon: lines straight, edges crisp, every walk blown clean.
