About Summit Contracting & Outdoor Services

The first real snow of the year usually finds the high ground first — the Wolcott line, the ridges north of the city — a good hour before the valley believes it. Summit Contracting & Outdoor Services is watching that sky with trucks loaded, waiting for the moment weather becomes work. Then it is driveways plowed to their edges, steps and entries shoveled, and salt down where the melt would otherwise refreeze by dawn. A storm can run all night, and the job is simply to keep coming back until it stops coming down. When the plow lights finally swing away, a Waterbury drive is wide open and the morning belongs to whoever lives there.
