About Cross Roads Services

Wallingford knows a crossroads storm when it sees one. Snow turns to sleet near midnight, sleet slides back to snow by two, and by morning the driveways along the Quinnipiac hold a heavy, layered mess that only stiffens as it freezes. Cross Roads Services takes on that kind of weather in Wallingford, plowing driveways and clearing walks before the slush can set into ice. Peeling a storm like that back is its own reward — the blade biting through the crust, the gray slurry shoved aside, the pavement beneath showing wet and dark under the streetlight. By the time daylight reaches the river, there is bare ground from the door to the curb.
