Along the Skungamaug the cold settles into the low ground first, and on a January morning a Tolland driveway is the last thing standing between a household and the day. Busch Brother's Lawn Services plows them open — drives, walkways and lots cleared, salt and sand down where the hill roads glaze over. When the frost finally lets go, the same routes turn green and the work changes to mowing, trimming, edging, and hauling winter's leavings out of the beds. Two trades, one map, and a truck that knows every mailbox on it. The result reads the same in either season: a property somebody can use without having to think about it.
