About 4 Evergreen LLC

Winter arrives in Thomaston down the Naugatuck valley, funneled between the hills, and by the time it reaches the streets below the dam it means business. 4 Evergreen LLC is out in it — plowing driveways, clearing walkways and lots, spreading salt and sand where the grade turns slick. The hours are unglamorous: two in the morning, headlights full of falling snow, the scrape and the back-up beep echoing off the ridge. All of it exists for a single moment nobody watches — a driveway already open at six, black pavement, a clean cut where the plow laid the bank back. That is the whole job, and it is worth doing right.
