About Leonel and Sons Landscaping

At four in the morning in February, the harbor end of Stamford is orange under the streetlights and the snow is coming sideways past the hurricane barrier. Leonel and Sons Landscaping is out in it — plowing, shoveling walks, clearing steps and salting — so the West Side and Waterside wake to a driveway already open and a path to the car. In the warm half of the year the same trucks carry mowers, and the job turns to cutting, trimming, edging, fertilizing and cleanups. There is a particular pride in a drive that gets cleared before the person who owns it ever hears the plow go by. Then May arrives and the same address is a lawn worth standing on barefoot.
