JD's Southbury Snow Plowing

About JD's Southbury Snow Plowing

Southbury sits up in the folds above the Housatonic, and the driveways here climb, switchbacks off the Kettletown road, long pitched runs down toward Lake Zoar that glaze over before anything else in town. JD's Southbury Snow Plowing is built around that terrain, plowing and clearing and keeping steep drives and turnarounds workable when a nor'easter parks over the Pomperaug valley. On a hill, plowing is half technique and half knowing the property, where the runoff freezes, which corner wants sand, where a windrow can go without blocking the next storm out. Getting a car up its own driveway on a January morning is not a small gift to hand somebody. That is the work, storm after storm, all winter.
