About River Valley Lawncare LLC

The Connecticut River meadows give South Windsor its soil — deep, sandy and forgiving, the same ground that grew shade tobacco under long white netting. River Valley Lawncare LLC mows and edges the lawns on that ground, from the old houses strung along Main Street to the newer yards east toward the Podunk. Good dirt grows grass in a hurry, which means a cutting schedule that keeps pace in June and a careful eye on the dry stretch in August. Overseeding takes hold quickly here in early fall, and the lawns come back thick before the leaves are down. The finest hour of the job is early evening, river light going amber across the meadows, the last strip cut and every edge clean.
