About Mountain Tree Service, Inc.

Somers keeps its hills in the east — Shenipsit State Forest, Soapstone Mountain, the fire-tower ridge — and spreads its farm ground out flat toward the Scantic River and the Massachusetts line. Mountain Tree Service, Inc. works from field edge to woodlot, removing a hemlock that has thinned out over a barn, trimming along the lanes where hardwoods lean into the mowing line. Late fall is the right time for most of it: leaves down, ground firm enough for the truck, and a clear view straight into a crown to decide what stays. Pruning is that decision made carefully — dead wood cleared, a rubbing limb taken, weight rebalanced on a tree that has spent decades growing toward the sun. After a heavy wet snow or a hard line of wind off the ridge, the work keeps its same steady rhythm until the place is whole again.
