About Jay's Lawn Services

Scotland is a small town with a long memory — stone walls threading the treelines, hayfields dropping toward the Little River, a green at the center you can cross in a minute. Jay's Lawn Services keeps the mowed ground of that landscape: dooryards along Route 14, the wide lawns of farmhouses set back behind sugar maples, the strips between field and gravel that nobody else is going to cut. Summer mornings start with mist on the low ground and burn off by nine, which makes a fine window for a machine and a straight line. Afterward the grass sits short and even against the old walls, and the whole place looks looked-after. That is the entire point of it.
