About Northern Landscaping LLC.

The little ferry at the foot of Meadow Road crosses the Connecticut River all summer and ties up for winter, and Northern Landscaping LLC works both halves of that year. Warm months mean mowing the river-flat yards near the cove, where the soil is old floodplain and the grass comes in thick and fast. Then the light shortens, the ferry goes quiet, and the work turns to plowing — driveways off Old Main Street opened before the first commuter reaches the Silas Deane. There is a particular satisfaction in a lot cleared down to pavement while the streetlights are still burning. Same crew, same town, two very different kinds of early morning.
