Svendsen & Keller

About Svendsen & Keller

The state line runs just west of here, so a garden begun in North Salem finishes its thought in Ridgefield — the same fieldstone walls, the same thin gold light coming sideways through the oaks at six in the evening. Svendsen & Keller design, build, maintain and advise: landscape design and consultation first, then garden construction, then the steady upkeep that keeps a bed honest year on year. Plant finding and delivery is its own kind of hunting — tracking down the one particular specimen a border actually wants instead of the one that was easy to come by. A garden is never finished, and that is exactly the pleasure of the work. Every June around here makes the argument again.
