Danbury sits in a bowl of low hills where the Still River threads past the old hat-shop blocks, and the yards that climb out of that bowl hold the last gold of a summer evening longer than the streets below. Jayscape Lawn Maintenance, Inc. works those slopes on a schedule cut to fit each particular yard — mowing and leaf blowing at the interval the grass actually asks for, garden beds cultivated, weeds pulled, limbs trimmed back off a roofline, tender plants wrapped before the cold. When the light finally goes, their outdoor lighting takes over, and a walkway that read as ordinary at noon becomes the reason to stand outside a while. Underground they set sprinklers and cut drainage channels so water arrives where it should and drains from the spots that stay soggy. In pavers, wood and stone they build patios, driveways, retaining walls, a fountain, a gazebo — custom-drawn rather than pulled off a shelf. Commercial properties get the same care on an off-hours rhythm, so the mowers are long gone before the doors open, and winter brings snow removal to the same drives they groomed all summer.
