About Hilltop Contractors, LLC

Pomfret rises and falls in long ridges, hayfield to hemlock, with Mashamoquet Brook working its way down through the stone walls the farmers left behind. Hilltop Contractors, LLC works that ground directly — excavation and site clearing, cellar holes, drainage, septic systems, and the water and sewer connections that run beneath a Windham County dooryard. Come January the same trucks are out plowing while the ridge roads are still blue, so a driveway is open before the first commute. There is a plain satisfaction in a paver walkway set true, a stumped lawn raked smooth, a wet corner of a yard finally running dry. From Pomfret Center out to Brooklyn, Putnam and Woodstock, the work is mostly invisible once it is finished — which is exactly the point.
