At noon in July the green at Plymouth Center goes still, the shade pools under the old maples, and the only sound for a block is a machine working its way across somebody's front lawn. CT LANDSCAPE COMPANY, LLC spends its summers in exactly that heat, mowing and maintaining turf on the high, breezy ground between the Litchfield hills and the Bristol line. Grass here grows fast after a thunderstorm rolls up the valley and slows again in the dry weeks of August, and keeping it even means showing up on schedule rather than on impulse. The result reads from the street: a lawn cut clean, its lines straight, its edges holding. That is the whole of the ambition, and it is enough.
