About Alex’s Tree Service LLC

Plymouth climbs. From the Pequabuck River bottom the roads pull up into hills that hold their snow a full day longer than the valley below, and Terryville's mill-era streets sit narrow under big old oaks. Alex's Tree Service LLC takes on the removals those hills make hard — the leaner over a garage, the brittle ash above a sloped back yard where there is no easy place to put anything down — and keeps the rest of the canopy trimmed back off rooflines. After a hard blow the calls come in from the back roads toward Mattatuck State Forest: a trunk across the pavement, a crown hung up over a drive, brush everywhere. Pruning is the slower half of the year, thinning a maple so wind moves through it rather than against it. There is a real satisfaction to a winter morning when the drive is open and the tree that worried you all fall is simply, quietly gone.
