Out where Norwalk runs east toward the Westport line, the Post Road traffic falls away into side streets of deep lawns and older stone. Westport Landscapes LLC mows that edge of the city — regular cutting, trimming along walls and fences, edging drives and walkways, bed cleanups in spring and again in fall. Late May is the peak of the whole thing: everything growing at once and the mowers out early to stay in front of it. Grass on this ground answers fast to a consistent cut, and the difference shows inside of two visits. A long lawn finished in even rows, right out to the pavement, is the kind of thing people slow down for.
