About Westville Landscaping LLC

The call usually comes at an unreasonable hour. Snow starts on Whalley Avenue around ten, thickens over Edgewood Park by midnight, and by two the Mill River is a black seam through a white neighborhood — and that is exactly when Westville Landscaping LLC's snow division is awake and rolling. Plows run unlimited, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, which in practice means a storm gets pushed back as many times as it takes rather than once and hopefully. The reward is small and enormous at the same time: a driveway already open at first light, tires finding pavement instead of ruts, the day beginning on time. From their base on Englewood Drive in New Haven they take the winter as it comes, one pass at a time, until the last flake has been dealt with.
