Out on the East Shore near Lighthouse Point a February morning starts black and stays that way a while, wind off the water stacking snow against every step and drive. Matt's Meticulous Landscaping is out in it with snow and ice removal, and the reward is plain: pavement opened up, a path to the door, a car that goes when it is asked. The rest of the year turns green — custom lawn care and weed control, spring cleanup, then seeding, lime, fertilization, power raking and lawn repairs, or fresh sod over graded and prepped soil with aftercare to follow. They plant flowers, perennials, annuals, bulbs, mums, trees and bushes, build and restore gardens down to raised vegetable beds and borders, trim hedges and shrubs, clear brush and debris, and set walkway borders, patios, firepits and decorative rock. Mulch is delivered and installed, houses, decks, fences and drives get pressure washed, and when a New Haven County family is away somebody still comes to water.
