About Connecticut Snowplowing L.L.C.

There is an hour before most storms when the sky goes heavy and the first flakes have not started yet. Connecticut Snowplowing L.L.C. spends that hour watching the sky and loading salt. The work is plowing and clearing — driveways opened wide enough to turn around in, walkways cut down to the surface, sand where a slope holds ice long after the sun should have taken it. Around New Haven the difference between a good clearing and a passable one shows up in March, when the banks finally melt back and the edges sit exactly where they were pushed. Some people call after each storm and some arrange for the whole winter; either way it comes down to a driveway you can use without thinking about it.
