A1 Snow Plowing

About A1 Snow Plowing

Three in the morning in the valley, and the only lights moving are the ones on the plow. A1 Snow Plowing works the steep pitches Naugatuck is built on — the streets that climb straight up from the river while Route 8 runs quiet and white below. Driveways get opened down to the pavement, walks get cut wide enough for a mailbag, and salt goes down before the first commuter reaches for a scraper. There is a particular satisfaction in a stretch of curb cleared so completely that the storm starts to look like a rumor. By the time the valley turns gray with daylight, the borough can simply leave for work.
