Colonel Landscaping answers that with hydroseed — grass seed, fertilizer, wood mulch, water and organic material sprayed onto ground no spreader could ever reach, and green showing before the week is out. From there the calendar fills in: weekly mowing and edging, plug aeration, dethatching, overseeding, and a five-step slow-release fertilization program that runs from crabgrass pre-emergent through the winterizer. Brush clearing takes back the overgrown corners of a Montville lot — saplings, stumps, roots, rock — while yard drainage handles what these hills send downhill, with French drains, catch basins, dry wells, swales and regrading. Gardens get mulch, trees and shrubs, perennial upkeep and water features; patios, retaining walls and walkways give the whole thing a frame; and the leaves go out at the curb each fall.
