Snow at the shore is its own creature: Milford storms come in off the Sound heavy and wet, the harbor steaming, Charles Island a gray shape past the breakwater. PJ's Landscape & Design clears driveways and walkways through it — the tight in-town lots near the Wepawaug, the longer drives out toward Silver Sands, the walks along the town green. Wet coastal snow sets like mortar once the temperature drops in behind the storm, so timing decides everything. The details are the ones nobody notices unless they are missing: a reachable mailbox, a walk taken down to bare surface, an apron cut square instead of ragged. Ice control follows wherever salt air and shade conspire overnight.
