Meriden was built as the Silver City, and late in the afternoon the light coming down Broad Street still does something to the old brick. Delgado's Landscaping works those blocks and the neighborhoods behind them — mowing lawns, trimming around porch rails and hedges, edging where turf meets sidewalk, keeping landscape beds and grounds in order right through the season. Half the yards here are narrow and cornered by fences and old stone walls, so the trimmer matters every bit as much as the mower. The last pass of the day, with the sun dropping behind the Hanging Hills, is when a finished yard looks its best. That is the picture worth leaving behind.
