The Green Scene

About The Green Scene

A lawn in Manchester is really five visits long. The Green Scene begins in early spring with balanced slow-release fertilizer, full-rate preemergent crabgrass control, blanket weed control, micro-nutrients and soil conditioners; then comes ACELEPRYN pollinator-friendly grub and surface insect control, then spot treatment of weeds, crabgrass and nutsedge through the hot stretch, then an organic root enhancer, and finally a heavy rate of balanced winter fertilizer to send the turf under. Where the soil has packed hard there is core aeration, core aeration with seed, and slice seeding that works a custom blend mechanically down into what is already growing. Tree and shrub care tends the horticultural side of a property, and tick control looks after the families and dogs who share these oak-shaded yards with the woods. Watch a lawn come back over one full turn of that calendar and you understand why the work is done in steps rather than all at once.
