About Lindahl Excavating LLC

North Madison sits well back from the water, up where Route 79 climbs into ledge and white pine and the cold settles harder than it ever does at the beach. Lindahl Excavating LLC works those inland roads and dooryards after a storm has buried them overnight, pushing the banks back wide so a driveway is open before the first car needs it. There is a plain pride in a clean pass down to pavement — the straight edge left along the lawn, the turnaround cut generous enough to swing a truck around without a second try. Winter here is a night shift: the ridge silent at four in the morning, the only light the amber one turning on the cab roof. Come the thaw, the same ground gets moved with a bucket instead of a blade. The whole job, in any month, comes down to one thing — make the way out passable.
