From Trumbull Street it is a short walk to Bushnell Park, where the carousel turns under the trees and the Capitol dome catches whatever sun the morning gives. Yello Landscaping works out of downtown Hartford and across the whole ring of towns beyond it, from Windsor Locks and Enfield down to New Britain and Wethersfield. The list is long on purpose: mowing, edging, fertilization, aeration and dethatching; new lawn installation and sod laid for an instant lawn; garden design, mulch and topsoil delivered and spread; hedges trimmed or taken out altogether; poison ivy, oak and sumac cleared out of the places where children play. Then the heavier trades — patios and walkways, retaining walls, crushed stone driveways, grading and drainage systems, excavation, stump and tree removal, pergolas and outdoor kitchens, landscape lighting and water features that give a yard a sound of its own. Winter brings snow and ice clearing, spring and fall bring the cleanups, and in between there is always a gutter to clear or a shed platform to level.
