K&J Tree Service

About K&J Tree Service

The Sleeping Giant lies along the north edge of Hamden, and half the town reads the weather by whether his profile is clear. K&J Tree Service works the streets running down from that ridge toward the Mill River and the canal path, with tree removal, trimming and pruning on lots where the houses sit close and the trees sit closer. Traprock ground grows tough, shallow-rooted oaks with a lean in them, and taking one out of a narrow side yard means rigging every piece rather than dropping anything. After a summer storm rakes the ridge line, cleanup runs late — the limbs hauled out, the driveway swept, the sidewalk clear by morning. A block that looks unbothered, as if the storm had simply passed over it, is a good day's end.
