Meristem Tree Care and Plantscapes

About Meristem Tree Care and Plantscapes

Haddam holds a long green bend of the Connecticut River, with the Cockaponset woods running back from the water and the meadows going flat and bright by June. Meristem Tree Care and Plantscapes works from Higganum village out to the river lots, pruning for structure and light, trimming back whatever crowds a garden, and removing trees that have finished their run. A plant grows from the tips it keeps, and pruning done with that in mind reads as though nothing was cut at all — only more air, more sun reaching the beds beneath. When a valley squall shears a limb into a perennial border, cleanup means lifting the wood out without walking the plantings flat. The pleasure is a garden that looks a year older in the best possible way by the time we drive off.
