Old Whitfield Street runs from the Green down to the harbor, and on a mild June morning the mowers are out before the marsh air burns off. Spring starts with a dethatcher and a clean sweep of winter debris; autumn ends with blowers and rakes working oak leaves off every last corner of grass.
