About Talcott Mountain Lawn Care

The traprock spine running north through East Granby is the same long ridge that becomes Talcott Mountain further south, and everything below it grows in thin, acid-leaning valley soil. Talcott Mountain Lawn Care reads a lawn as a calendar rather than a single visit: granular fertilizer with slow-release nitrogen and micronutrients in early spring, Dimension laid down ahead of the crabgrass, then a second pass late in spring to carry that control deeper into the season. Midsummer brings preventative grub control alongside the feeding, surface insect work, and a slow walk of the turf to see what is actually happening down at the crown. No mowing happens here — every stop points at the grass plant itself, at broadleaf weeds, insects and disease caught while they are still small. By late fall, when the hawks are streaming south along the ridgeline, pelletized limestone goes out to bring the soil pH back into balance so next spring's feeding is not wasted. Core aeration and overseeding fill back in whatever the winter thins.
