About Grass Helper Lawn

Salmon Brook gave Granby's main street its name and gave the land under it a water table, and Grass Helper works a few doors from both. Their trade is water where you want it and nowhere you don't: automatic irrigation zoned head by head to a lawn's real shape, and drains — gutter, French, curtain, infiltrator — for the downpours that come off the ridge and pool in the low corner of a yard. Systems here run off wells, public water, ponds or rivers, and they carry weather sensors, so grass gets watered on the days it actually wants it and not on the day after a storm. Come dusk the other half of the work switches on: landscape lighting set on solid post mounts with the wire run through conduit, so a walk and a garden keep their shape long after the light has gone off the hills. Spring start-ups run from late April into June; the winterization list closes in October, when the water goes off and the season folds itself up.
