TeamReady

About TeamReady

Standing on the Enfield bank in January, the Connecticut River moves gray and slow with ice riding on it, and the wind off that water finds every gap in a coat. Snow that arrives on such a wind is heavy and wet, the kind that packs hard at the end of a driveway and refuses to be shoveled twice. TeamReady goes at it with plow and shovel both — the apron, the walk, the step, then salt down before the cold can set whatever is left. Getting out of the house on a morning like that ought to be uneventful, and they work to keep it that way. Enfield takes its winters seriously, and so does the truck that shows up in them.
