About A1 Snowplowing & Landscaping LLC

In late February, when a storm settles over the tobacco fields below Soapstone Mountain and the wind comes down hard off Shenipsit Lake, A-1 Snowplowing & Landscaping is out in the blue dark, pushing commercial lots back to bare pavement before the first cars turn in. Come thaw, the same hands trade the plow for stone — retaining walls stepped into Ellington's rolling ground, paver patios and walkways set in patterns that hold their lines, new lawn rolled out green over dirt that was frozen white a season ago. They put in plantings, build outdoor living space, and landscape the ground around a pool so the water sits in something finished. From Ellington out through Vernon, Tolland, Somers and Stafford Springs, then down the valley to Windsor Locks, Enfield and Hartford, the satisfaction is all in what's left behind: an edge that stays crisp, a wall that stays plumb, a yard that carries a house clean through the year.
