In April the Millington hills give up their frost slowly, and nearly every East Haddam project begins by arguing with ledge, glacial till and water that badly wants to go somewhere else. JS Siteworks LLC handles that argument: site development, excavation and earthwork, from site preparation and grading to utility installation and land clearing. There is a plain satisfaction in a lot that was brush and stone on Monday and is a shaped, drained, buildable pad by Friday. They also take on landscaping, trucking and snow removal, so the same machines that opened the ground in mud season push it clear come January. The work runs across Connecticut and Massachusetts, and most days it starts before the fog has lifted off the low fields.
