Every old stone wall in Durham was somebody's afternoon once — fieldstone lifted out of the pasture and set back down along the line. Torrison Stone & Garden carries that forward in a different register: patios and walkways, walls and fireplaces, stone veneer, and the wide aprons of pool patio that give a summer somewhere to happen. Design comes first, plans that fold softscape and hardscape into a single idea, and then gardens go in to soften what was just built. They stay on afterward too — power washing, joint stabilization and paver repair, property management, and a seasonal color program that turns the plantings over as the year does. In October, with the fairgrounds filling and the maples along Main Street going rust and gold, a swept patio and a true-set edge of stone look as though they had always been there.
