About Pulla Tree Services, LLC

Ridgefield sits high, and you feel it on a March morning when the town is still frozen hard and the valleys east of here have already gone to mud. Pulla Tree Services, LLC works the long stone-wall driveways off the north end of town and the ledge lots around Lake Mamanasco, where soil is thin and an oak's grip on rock is never quite what it appears. Removal on ground like that is a rigging problem before it is a cutting problem, and bringing a tree down in sections over a slate roof is the part worth doing right. The rest of the year is trimming and pruning — clearance over a gravel drive, dead limbs out of the beeches, weight eased off the long side of a white oak leaning toward a house. When a nor'easter comes through and the town wakes to a mess, the work is simple and immediate: the tangle comes off the stone wall and the driveway is passable by dark.
